POSITION: Cash Analyst


REPORTS TO: Executive Director of School Finance


SALARY GRADE: State Salary Scale


NATURE OF WORK: The primary role of the Cash Analyst is to support the school district’s
financial affairs, including but not limited to, billing, accounts receivable, budgeting, treasury
functions, internal auditing and state reporting. S/he must be able to execute multiple
responsibilities within the Finance Department and to communicate with others professionally
while validating all information accurately. Ensures compliance with financial laws, regulations
and requirements that adhere to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and standard
business practices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Additional Duties may be assigned.
Cash Management
? Receive/document/deposit all cash receipts.
? Complete monthly bank statement reconciliations for all bank accounts; making sure all
required journal entries are created/reviewed/approved and posted to the general ledger.
? Monitor/track expenses, transfers/reimbursements to/from community partners and other
entities. Initiate billing and cash receipts as stipulated in contracts, grants and/or
agreements.
? Provides oversight and administration of the P-card process and other direct billing
initiatives. Ensure all P-card transactions are recorded to the correct account within the
month statements are received.
? Budgets, manages, and generates all reports for all donations and grants received by the
district.
? Serves as the district Clover Device operator.
? Assists all treasurers/Bookkeepers with their day to day needs.
? Order cash using the State’s Cash Management System
? Implements and ensures compliance with the state and school district’s finance policies,
internal controls and business processes.
SECONDARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Serves as back-up Accounts Payable Specialist.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
? Ability to communicate with all employees.
? Ability to determine priorities in order to complete assigned tasks..
? Ability to be flexible when tasks require alternative actions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
? Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of stooping,
kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing
and repetitive motion.
? Must be able to perform sedentary work exerting up to 20 pounds of force
occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry,
push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
? Must possess the visual acuity to prepare and use figures, to operate a computer
terminal and other office equipment and to do extensive reading.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
? Graduation from a two-year college with a business degree preferred or a minimum
of at least two years’ experience in a business office preferably in processing.
? Preference given to experience in School Business.
